"Greetings from Finland!

I would like to say thank you and that I greatly appreciate that you have provided a huge and important aspect of your culture for everyone to see – whether they’re Raza or not. I, my self, am not, but I have a great interest in the culture. I want to download the Teen Angels magazine since it helps me learn more and to better understand the Chicano culture.

Once again: thank you. Keep up the good work!"

About the Artist Behind the Archive

Ricardo Cortez aka Tijuana Rick is a passionate Chicano artist dedicated to the preservation and education of lowrider culture. The archive is always growing, please check back for updates.

Open Access Digital Archive

In 2020, I decided to my collection of rare lowrider media and upload them online in the name of open-access. Ensuring that access to these incredible pieces of lowriding history remains available.

A Culture Sculptor

I have been creating Chicano artwork for the better part of 20 years. With a BFA from SCU and an MFA from SJSU, I’ve been exploring my cultural identity through my relationship with technology and nostalgia. Check out my porfolio.
